Welcome to the Urban Climate Research Group at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology!
Urban
areas, concentrating most of the world’s population, are hot spots that drive environmental changes
at multiple scales. We are interested in the mass, momentum and energy transport within cities, and its
interaction with the overlying atmosphere. Our group investigates the challenges posed to water resources,
energy, infrastructure, human health, as well as other aspects of sustainability in cities under a
changing climate and the solutions for these challenges. The ultimate goal is to advance fundamental
understanding of the human-environment nexus and promote smart cities in the future.
